NJHS/Poetry Cafe

I got into National Junior Honor Society with my friends. Alyah is to my left and to Alyah's left is Emmy. National Junior Honor Society is a program for student with 3.5 grade average and has good experience in leadership. NJHS does special charity work life relay for life and donations for others.

This is an action shot of Emmy, Alyah, and I trying as hard as we can to not laugh. Here is a funny story, okay so we were all sitting down until your name is called you sign your name in the big book and take a candle. Right when I walked down to the line Alyah and Emmy looked shocked. I asked, "What?" the girls answered, "You forgot your candle!" I ran up the stage grabbed a candle and ran down. We were trying so hard not to laugh.  It took forever to light my candle with us shaking with laughter.
The same morning we had poetry cafe. What we did was read our poems to the class and parents were welcome. It was fun, here is one of the poems I read:

                                                              Peace Poem
Me, myself, and I
Midnight chimes ringing
Hearing the bluebirds sigh
Moonlight shining
Say good-bye
To bombs and war
Don’t be shy
Hear the humming birds soar
Feel the wind fly by
Smell the flowers
Run around
Time is ours
We won’t be seeing war cry
Not now
And not for a long time
For now there is PEACE in the world

For now there is PEACE in the world
And for a long time
Now
We won’t be seeing war cry
Time is ours
Run around
Smell the flowers
Feel the wind fly by
Hear  the humming bird soar
Don’t be shy
To bombs and war
Say goodbye
Moonlight shining
Hearing the bluebirds sigh
Midnight chimes ringing
Me, Myself, and I
